Alpha for me started with Cynthia Wong who was then a colleague of mine. On her last day at work (of course she did not tell me she’s leaving the company) I actually looked her up coincidentally and she told me she’s leaving a good job for a greater one.

A poor peddler finds Jesus in Petaling Jaya

Members of Glorypoint Christian Fellowship attended Alpha training in 2009 and recently finished their first Alpha course. 20 regular guests attended the course, and the surprise guest was a local peddler, Uncle Fong, who attended despite not understanding English.

Stephanie was recently a guest on an Alpha course at a nursing home in Damansara Perdana, and she will be taking baptism at her church in a few months time. A Doctor's experience: Alpha in the Workplace at Sunway Medical

Last September, four doctors at Sunway Medical Centre began an Alpha course for the nurses, medical technicians, secretaries and reps there. The course began with a cup of tea at 5:30pm each week, then the talk, discussion time, and dinner at 7pm. Doctor Samuel Ong shares his experience here:

Changed lives at a womens' drug rehabilitation centre in KL

Rainbow Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Kuala Lumpur recently completed it’s first Alpha course for the women living there. The course at the Centre came about as a result of contacts made by James Lim, Alpha’s Prison Development Manager, and three working professionals volunteered their time each week to help run the course.

When Lizzie Heng and Thomas Chin went to an Alpha course in 2005, they started a process that, at the beginning of 2010, has seen many in their family come to Christ.

 Last year Llewyn and Christina attended The Marriage Course at DUMC. Christina was from a Christian background, Llewyn was not. But during the course they made good friends with the course coordinator, and through that relationship Llewyn heard and saw what he needed to make a decision to follow Christ.

Esther, a Christian lawyer working for a firm in Subang Jaya, used to turn away married couples seeking her help with divorce. For Esther it was hard to reconcile her faith with the idea of helping people end their marriages.
